New Patients: Your First Visit
When you visit a new dentist for the first time, it can help you to relax If you know what to expect. Your first appointment with A Caring Dental Group is one we want you to enjoy.
First, we’ll have you fill out a few forms for our records. These include brief medical and dental histories, so that we can better understand your specific oral health concerns.
Then, we’ll take any x-rays that are necessary. For an emergency, we will usually just take one area-specific image. For new patient comprehensive exams, we’ll take a series of full mouth radiographs to assess your entire smile.
Our hygienist will screen for gum disease, and if your smile is healthy enough, clean and polish your teeth. Several intraoral photos will be taken, so that you can also see everything that we are seeing during your visit. Finally, one of our dentists will stop by to thoroughly examine each of your teeth and existing dental work.
Should you need any treatment, we will create a care plan for you and review the specific steps that we recommend. As always, we want you to play a role in determining which options are best for you - and when possible, we will recommend all appropriate care techniques so that you can select the most appropriate for your needs.
